The model calculator demonstrates the savings potential of a compressed air system after the implementation of various measures. As individual measures may also effect each other, the actual result may differ from the model calculation. With proper planning, compressed air supply is efficient and reliable. The original investment is not that significant in compressed air systems. Approximately 70% of the life cycle costs must be allocated to the energy used in the generation and treatment of compressed air. The initial costs are 20% approximately and the remaining 10% are spent for servicing. Energy costs are on the rise, with no end in sight. As a consequence, we all must use energy sparingly. The compressed air networks of many companies conceal massive savings potentials. On average, compressed air costs can be lowered by a third – in some cases by significantly more. Frequently, major saving potentials can be realised.
